These are the People in our Neighborhood...

For years a handful of families in our neighborhood have gathered weekly for playgroup. We have all watched the older kids grow-up and witnessed the pregnancies of their siblings. And now, the youngest sibling, Chloe, is turning 1 years old on Saturday. Today at playgroup we threw an impromptu party for Lila (who turned 2 years old on Wednesday) and Chloe. I feel blessed to live in such a wonderful neighborhood with such amazing families.

Creepy Crawly

This weekend Sophia went to an awesome birthday party at the Davis Science Museum. It was reported that the favorite parts were the dinosaur dig activity, parachute launch, and live animals. In fact, Sophia was the only VERY brave kid to let the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach crawl on her arm. Just seeing the pictures made me shiver - I can't imagine how loud I would have shrieked if I was there to witness it in person.
P.S. Happy Birthday Eli and Alex!

Not TOO Fast!

Every day Chloe is learning and doing new things. The other day I put her on the popper car - and she scooted. Her face lit up when she realized she made it move and "pop." Very rewarding for her and me!

Look closely...

Chloe is playing by herself! Chloe's new toy(s) are the Weebles. This morning I was able to sit her in the room with the Weebles and walk away. She played long enough for me to brush my teeth, do the morning dishes and then take some cute pictures of her. Time to buy more Weebles.

FYI - Sophia was busy drawing in the other room.

S-O-P-H-I-A spells Sophia

Sophia can write her name! In true Sophia fashion, it took her forever to attempt it, but on her first "try," she did it perfectly. Sophia keeps teaching me the lesson of having patience.

No-Work-Days

As Sophia puts it, Seth has been having a lot of "no-work-days." Typically on the weekends we try to do at least one family activity. Seth has been home since last Wednesday, so we have been fairly busy with fun outings.

On Friday Seth and Sophia joined our friends Tommy and Eli and headed for the snow. It was VERY cold, snowing, and windy. But, everyone had lots of fun. Here's Sophia and Eli staying warm in the lodge.
On Saturday Seth and I challenged Sophia to a game of bowling. Lucky us it was disco-time at the alley. The lights were off, the disco ball was on and the music was blaring. Won't tell you who won, but it's one of the two people who used the ramp!
