Waffles aren't just for breakfast

On most Saturdays I make a family breakfast, usually pancakes or egg scrambles. This past Saturday Sophia requested waffles. So, she and I made buttermilk waffles and we all enjoyed them. Chloe was satisfied with Os, so I didn't bother offering her any. I put the left-over waffles in the fridge, thinking Sophia would like them for breakfast on Sunday. Well, they were still sitting in my fridge this afternoon, so I decided to bring one for Chloe to chew on while Sophia and I joined friends for pizza. Chloe loved the waffle! In fact, I gave her the other one for dinner tonight.

We found something else Chloe likes!

P.S. Grammy, I'm looking forward to trying pumpkin pie :)

Thankful

Every day at preschool Sophia makes an art project. Usually it's a simple construction paper and glue craft, but this one amazed me.

Already at 4 years old, she understands how fortunate we are to live in an awesome neighborhood with so many kids her age.

I guess she likes yogurt too!

We found another food Chloe likes. Yogurt! She's a super messy eater, but we are all having fun feeding her. Tonight she ate an entire bowl of yogurt (and of course handfuls of Os). She's catching on quick to the eating thing.

Swing Away

It seems that I have been begging Sophia to learn to "pump" her legs while swinging forever. It has been challenging when Chloe is fussy and only wants to be held and Sophia wants to be pushed on the swing.

Well - she can do it! The other day at the park I saw her saunter over to the swings, hop on, and then use her legs and body to start swinging. And wow - she got herself going high. Good job Sophia!

Trying something new

This is a blog of firsts. I have never (ever) written in a diary, kept a journal, or anything similar before. But, I am trying this out to better capture the Girls' childhood.

So...this is a first for me, and below are a couple of "firsts" for Sophia and Chloe.

Yesterday we met Seth for lunch. On the way there Sophia was asking lots of questions about how much lunch would cost. I didn't pay it much attention until when I undid her seat belt, she pulled a $5 from her wallet and asked if she could buy us lunch. I explained to her that $5 wasn't going to be enough, but that I would treat her to lunch. She REFUSED. She really wanted to buy lunch. So we decided that she could buy her own burrito. Here's her receipt and change.

Thanks Old Opa for the $5!

As for Chloe, we have been struggling with her lack of interest in food. For the past few months she has not wanted any food! She's been completely satisfied with nursing. But, this past week Chloe has started to eat Os! Just like Sophia, Chloe loves them and instantly calms down when you give her a handful.
